12:30 am - The end of an Era? (which might be good for once) As many football fans have already heard Denver's Pro Bowl QB Jay Cutler has been traded to the Chicago Bears! This is already pretty big football news (Denver trading an all-star franchise quarterback?), but it's even bigger for any Bears fan.
( Football cut so those who don't care can skip )
I just can't wait to rub it in hitomi_sama's face when the Bears have an actual receiving game against Green Bay this year! NFC NORTH IS OURS! >:O
Anyway what do other Bears fans think? Happy? Angry? Ecstatic? Current Mood: anxious

11:48 pm - They say it's your Birthday...well it's (not) my Birthday too! Since it's still Thursday for 12 more minutes, I'm not technically late so...
Happy Birthday Pat and Brian J. Nickerson
It's cool that two of my more awesome friends share the same birthday. Pretty sure gannon79 will see this, but not sure if rozard will, but yeah...Happy Birthday. Wishing you a good upcoming year and many more.

03:34 pm - Interwebs away... Here are some things I found interesting, funny or scary on the internets: Blue Screen of Death during Olympic Ceremonies - apparently Bill Gates was in the audience too. Thanks gregly! Family Burns Brett Favre Memorabilia - yeah, I live in this state -_-;;. Thanks outlawedprod! Entire Team Fortress 2 Cosplay at Otakon - I wish I saw this, but oh well. BONK! Extra-Wide Contact Lenses make Girls look SCARY - I'm not surprised that this would be popular in Japan, but COME ON!
Anyway I should do some actual work, but hopefully I'll write my report later tonight. Current Mood: okay

05:34 pm - [AMV] Through the Years and Far Away - my Otakon 2008 entry For my friends who are not on the org, here's my entry for this year's Otakon AMV Contest:
Through the Years and Far Away Category: Drama, Romance, Sentimental, etc. Video: Voices of a Distant Star Audio: With or Without You Artist: U2 Announcement Thread
Thanks to pwolf, ashyukun, atomx, vip1, dreum and doki for their help throughout the video!
And if you're wondering (I know some of you are given your text messages -_-;;), no I didn't win this year, but it's all good. In hindsight, I think I've been in the spotlight quite a number of times at Otakon already and it's good to see someone new...every once in awhile ;P. We'll see how things go next year...I want my toaster for winning four times >:O.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Current Mood: artistic Current Music: Megumi Hayashibara - Plenty of Grit

03:02 pm - 2008's man of FAIL - Brett Favre It just keeps getting better and better. I swear God has to be a Bear's (or Viking's) fan because this is quite possibly the most hilarious shit ever: Packers talking to Vikings about Brett Favre trade Brett Favre parody video - thanks outlawedprod! I'm not at all surprised that Hitler is a Brett Favre fan since they have a lot in common. Chief among those, both are outright EVIL.
...the video does have some truths to it that I imagine Packer fans can relate to.
On a random note, I found this picture funny.
Anyway I should do some reading I guess. Please by the end of today's news cycle let there be more Favre FAIL. Current Mood: amused

04:25 pm - Terminator 2 Retardation
pwolf, this conversation with hitomi_sama made me think of you: " hitomi_sama: wolfy never answered?
dwchang: wow you called him wolfy hahaha
dwchang: inside joke sorry"
Only like two other people will get this and everyone else will think it's retarded, but I figured I'd share that with you :P. I can't believe no one has uploaded that particular scene on YouTube. What a disgrace!
Your foster parents are dead...
lawlz
I need to stop playing DOTA till 4 AM (you should play -dmarem mode kusoyaro...it's so fun! Just ask suberunker and his 0 - 10 record! :P). I'm so tired. I think I'm gonna take a nap before Church >_>. Current Mood: amused

09:32 pm - I'm bored...
tsunami_jones: rocket racoon is badass
dwchang: i'm sorry, that statement just looks funny
tsunami_jones: I know >_>
dwchang: enough that I may need to put it in my LJ ...
dwchang: and there's a raccoon
dwchang: with a rocket
dwchang: seriously
tsunami_jones: he doesn't have a rocket
tsunami_jones: but he does have big guns
dwchang: OH MAH GAWD FALSE ADVERTISING
TJ is weird...although I guess the fact two grown men are arguing about a raccoon with guns in itself is pretty weird >_>.
Anyway, I hope you got my messages ashyukun. Current Mood: amused

03:20 pm - lawlz So I don't really have anything significant to post so here are a bunch of things I found either interesting or funny: Bad guys really do get the most girls - not that this is surprising, but two scientific studies confirm it. How depressing. Best Places to Live - will you look at #1? Oh look, I live right next to Middleton (in Verona). It's really just a suburb of Madison and close to where Spotted Cow is brewed (New Glarus). icanhascheezburger - not a new site or anything, but something I read daily for amusement. Here are some of my favorites recently. The first one is probably one of my favorites period and the last one reminds me of a riddle pwolf told me :P. Fail Blog - a similar site I read for amusement. Here are some of my favorites so far. The last one clinches it for me :P.
Anyway back to playing some Ninja Gaiden. That's my NINJA WAY! BELIEVE IT! ...I should be starting my AWA Pro entry >_>. Current Mood: amused

11:05 pm - lawlz Since I'm fairly tired and have nothing of substance to discuss, here are some amusing things I saw today: Meet the Sniper - the next Team Fortress 2 style video. Given that the Sniper is my favorite class, it's no surprise I enjoyed this video :). Bill O'Reilly Plays Battletoads - I'm sure most folks have seen the original video where O'Reilly flipped out years ago, well it seems people have started remixing it. Giving how frustrating Battletoads is, it makes for an easy remix :P.
Oh, I'm also writing this on Firefox 3.0. Anyone who hasn't gotten it still has 12 hours to help them break the Guinness Record for most downloads in a day. DO IT! Current Mood: sore Current Music: Boston Celtics winning the NBA Title

12:57 am - Wow, that's retarded... So thanks to castortroysd I'm caught up on Naruto and I think I know what chibimofo was talking about in his last post. The way the story is going is beyond retarded, makes absolutely no sense and it just seems like the creator is now just pulling crap out of nowhere and making things up that don't make sense.
SERIOUSLY.
Hawk...lawl. Current Mood: disappointed

05:01 pm - To gregly and wtf Greg/Julie: Please be online later tonight so we can discuss plans for the show this weekend. I'd be on now if I wasn't in lab...
And for everyone else: Being Near the Ice Queen has an obvious effect - Pundit Kitchen is like like the icanhazcheezeburger of politics. New Weezer Music Video for Pork and Beans - just watch...lots of internet humor. Thanks sailordeath! Cowboy Kiwap - the hilarity continues.. Current Mood: creative Current Music: Nobuo Uematsu - Final Fantasy 7 Theme

May 25th, 2008
03:48 pm - Amusement... Here are a few things I've found that amused me earlier this week: I Will Derive! - a (nerdy) "I Will Survive" parody. It's sad that I actually understood most of this and was amused by lines like "Find the derivative of x position with respect to time...just have to take dx/dt." Funny thing is I *sucked* at Physics in HS...it only took 10 years for me to get this >_>. The Alpha Geeks - on a geek related note, an interesting article on the rising of geek culture. It's amusing at first, but when you think about it 'geeky things' have pervaded so much of our culture and it's weird how that lifestyle is now 'acceptable' or even 'popular.'
These particular links need their own little section: FUTAE NO KIWAMI YEAAAAARGGHHHH - courtesy of outlawedprod.
Long story short, the Japanese find the english dub of Rurouni Kenshin so humorous (i.e. THE ENGLISH DUB IS HORRIBLE) that a particular clip spawned THOUSANDS of parodies (some ridiculous and making no sense). I won't claim to understand the Japanese or why this became an internet phenomenon, but I can still be amused.
Here are just some of the parodies: FUTAE NO KIWAMI! FUTAE NO KIWAMI! Final Fantasy V Battle Music Super Mario RPG Medley Totoro Theme - the "Shi-Shi-O" to "To-To-Ro" near the end amused me the most. Eva parody - Part I Eva parody - Part II
This is only a small selection of the parodies out there. It's really ridiculous how many there are, but it still amuses me since I hated the Kenshin dub.
P.S. suberunker we should buy AveQ tickets soon. wtf/ gregly I still need an answer from you two >_>. Current Mood: amused

04:08 am - Whoa O.O So I should be in bed, but I was reading VGCats and in his links found this pretty sweet video: Music made with Super Mario Sounds - it's 11 minutes long and I only recognized only a handful of songs (two Haruhi ones, Dr. Wily from Megaman 2, Final Fantasy, Mario (duh) and the Aquarion opening), but assure you it's worth watching/listening to.
Now I sleep... Current Mood: sleepy

10:24 pm - HI I'M CRAZY GBA Bowser's Castle 3 out of 4 games? Seriously...random select my ass!
Edit: Oh yeah I saw this and thought doki (and others who find game development interesting like gregly might find it interesting: How to Prototype a Game in Under 7 Days: Tips and Tricks from 4 Grad Students Who Made Over 50 Games in 1 Semester.

01:24 am - Mario Kart PSA (Nerd levels high) It's sad that I think more than one person on my f-list will find this interesting (myself included) so: Mario Kart Character Bonus Stats - as in how much of a particular statistic they improve.
I was actually a bit surprised by this and thought all the characters of a certain size class were identical (i.e. Mario = Luigi = Peach), but apparently that's wrong. This may force me to rethink my "always pick Koopa Troopa no matter what" strategy that has existed since the SNES version (where frankly every game degenerated into "who can move their cursor to Koopa Troopa first" and "who had to settle for Toad" which was similar to Tecmo Bowl and Walter Peyton, may he rest in peace...this is a long tangent).
Anyway looks like Baby Daisy (HI I'M CRAZY DAISY) or...Baby Peach -_- might be the best option given my play style. Lame. Current Mood: nerdy...yes, still

04:07 pm - HOLY CARP Kinda surprised no one on my flist has posted this, but a pretty awesome fanmade CG movie just came out. Not sure if people remember Haloid or Dead Fantasy I, but he's at it again with Dead Fantasy II.
I loved the former two and was impressed, but it looks like he's taken it to another level. It's pretty amazing and if I wasn't in lab, I'd watch it again O.O.
Anyway, figured most folks on my flist would enjoy it so...yeah. Back to work for me >_>. Current Mood: impressed Current Music: Some 80's Cheese >_>
